Roland Portmann

Ambassador Roland Portmann is Deputy Director of the Directorate of International Law at the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to his current position, he served as the Legal Adviser at the Embassy of Switzerland in the United States of America in Washington, D.C., as head of section and as attorney-adviser in the Directorate of International Law in Berne and as a legal and diplomatic attaché to the Swiss Embassy in the Republic of Kosovo in Pristina. Ambassador Portmann holds master degrees in law and in international affairs and a doctorate in international law. He is a Guest Professor of International Law in Swiss Practice at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
