"We need to urgently allocate resources to a much grander interdisciplinary research agenda. We need to understand everything is connected from the scientific and technological breakthroughs to the transformation of organisations to the strategies that actors and stakeholders will choose. Then, of course, what becomes to us as people, our culture, our choices, all of that. That is why, in many ways, it's not AI governance at all. Increasingly, I think of it as just governance. There's a set of things we can do in the management of the models and the systems, but that is a tiny part of a much larger set of choices we have as societies."
