Our Managing Partner, Ayisha Piotti, contributes to the “Advancing Women in AI” white paper by the impactIA Foundation and Women in Digital Switzerland, aiming to strengthen diversity across the AI ecosystem.

The white paper explores why diversity is essential for trustworthy AI, mapping the structural barriers women face and proposing concrete actions for companies, policymakers and institutions to close the gap.

In her contribution, she emphasises that women make up half of the world and should be equally represented and involved in AI, and that advancing women in AI is “everybody’s business” – from companies and academics to regulators, NGOs and technologists. She also highlights that meaningful contributions to AI do not require a technical degree, and that human-centred, well-governed AI is critical for the future we want for the next generation. She highlights t women’s participation essential not only in technical roles, but also in policy, governance and leadership.

Bringing together insights of major contributors across business, academia and the public sector, the white paper outlines concrete measures on awareness, education, engagement and advocacy to support women’s careers in AI. The white paper’s core message being diversity is a prerequisite for AI that avoids bias, reflects society and supports more equitable labour markets.
