Ayisha Piotti, joined the IAPP's AI Governance Global Europe gathering in Dublin an official G7 conference at a moment of particular consequence. Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the second half of 2026, placing Dublin at the centre of Europe's AI agenda just as implementation questions come to a head. On a panel moderated by Stephen Bolinger of Informa, Ayisha joined Assistant Secretary Jean Carberry of Ireland's Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment to explore the AI projects and events being co-led by the European Commission and the incoming Irish Presidency, while Bindu Sharma Joshi highlighted the perspective of the Global South.

Michael McNamara MEP (MEP, Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee) provided brilliant legislative context, while digital media innovator Mark Little, CEO/Co-Founder of Kinzen left the audiences with a powerful three-part framework for the future: (a) Build with AI; (b) Think with AI; (c) Lead with AI.
A highlight of the visit was Ayisha's exchange with IAPP President and CEO J. Trevor Hughes on future collaboration, specifically on connecting the IAPP's global professional community more strongly with Switzerland, from the AI Policy Summit in Zurich this September to the Global AI Summit in Geneva in 2027.
From Strasbourg to Brussels to Dublin, a consistent thread runs through this year's convenings: the era of writing AI principles is giving way to the era of making them work and that transition will be carried by dialogue, by professionals, and by institutions willing to cooperate across borders.
