RegHorizon at the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UN CSTD)

We are pleased to share that our Managing Partner, Ayisha Piotti, was invited to speak at the annual meeting of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (UN CSTD) on 17 November in Geneva.

Speaking to delegates from more than 100 countries, she contributed to a high-level discussion on how developing countries can promote agile, and adaptive policymaking that promotes innovation.

She elaborated on the concept of Transformative Innovation Policy Frameworks, outlining five key pillars: dynamic innovation systems, adaptive regulation, open cross-border collaboration, a strong focus on inclusivity and sustainability, and continuous capacity building within institutions and communities.

She emphasised, these elements are vital to ensure that digital transformation narrows and not widens the digital divide.

The session brought together distinguished experts including Prof. Ritu Agarwal William Polk Carey Distinguished Professor, Johns Hopkins University ,Carey Business School, and member of the CSTD Gender Advisory Board, Caroline Fredrickson (Director of Research and Publications, International Labour Organization), and Prof. Zhenjun Yan (Beijing Normal University, Founder and Chairman of the WIIN-World Intelligent Incubation Network).

RegHorizon warmly thanks Amb. Zhang Xian, Chair-designate of the CSTD 29th session, for moderating the discussion, and Jackie Si Tou and the UNCTAD team for their excellent organisation.

Such initiatives are crucial for advancing inclusive digital development and strengthening global cooperation on AI and emerging technologies.

RegHorizon remains committed to contributing actively to this process.
